1. Booking
1.1 How to book
All bookings are made online through our booking platform. Your place is confirmed when you receive a confirmation email.
1.2 Payment
Full payment is required at the time of booking. We don’t hold unpaid places.
1.3 Your first visit
If this is your first session with us, you’ll need to complete a health declaration and waiver before your booking can be finalised. It takes about three minutes and it’s built into the checkout. We ask because breathwork isn’t suitable for everyone, and knowing your circumstances is how we keep you safe. See our Health Screening & Waiver.
If anything about your health changes (a new diagnosis, a pregnancy, a new medication, an injury, surgery), tell us before your next session.
1.4 Booking for someone else
You can, but they must complete their own health declaration and accept the waiver in their own name before they attend. Please make sure they’ve read this policy too; it will apply to them.
1.5 Age
You need to be 18 or over, or have a parent or guardian’s written consent. Children and babies are not permitted in our studio sessions, as they are not covered under our insurance policy.
2. Cancelling or rescheduling
2.1 The windows
| What you booked | Cancel or reschedule by | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Any scheduled class First Breath, Stillness & Source, Spiral of Expansion, Release & Return, Full Breath Journey | 24 hours before start | Full credit to your account, or reschedule at no cost |
| Private or one-to-one session | 48 hours before start | Full credit, or reschedule at no cost |
| Workshop, ceremony, guest facilitator or special event | 7 days before start | Full credit, or reschedule at no cost, or a refund less 10% |
Inside the window, the payment or class credit is forfeited, with the exceptions in sections 2.3, 2.4 and 4.
2.2 How to cancel
Through the booking platform, or the link in your confirmation email. If you’re having trouble, email hello@breathation.com, but please note the time we receive your message is what counts.
2.3 Your grace cancellation
Everyone gets one late cancellation every 6 months, no questions asked and no explanation needed. Life happens. Cancel through the platform and let us know, and we’ll credit it back.
We do this because we’d rather you tell us you can’t come than not show up. It’s not available for workshops, special events or private sessions, and it doesn’t cover no-shows.
2.4 Medical and compassionate circumstances
If you can’t attend because of illness, injury, a medical emergency, a bereavement or another serious personal circumstance, contact us and we’ll sort it out, usually with a full credit regardless of timing. We may ask for a medical certificate for repeated requests or higher-value bookings, but our starting position is that we believe you.
Please don’t come to class sick. If you have a cold, flu, COVID-19, gastro or any contagious illness, stay home. You will not be penalised for cancelling on health grounds, at any notice.
2.5 Transferring your place
You may transfer a scheduled class booking to another person at no cost, provided you tell us at least 4 hours before the class and they complete their own health declaration and waiver before attending. Transfers aren’t available for workshops or special events unless we agree in writing.
3. No-shows and late arrival
3.1 No-shows
If you don’t arrive and haven’t cancelled, your payment or class credit is forfeited and no credit is issued. This is the one part of this policy we apply consistently, because a no-show is the outcome that costs everyone else the most.
3.2 Late arrival
Doors close at the scheduled start time. Once a session has begun, we cannot admit latecomers.
This isn’t strictness for its own sake. Breathwork sessions build through a settling phase into deep, sustained states. Someone walking in ten minutes late pulls twelve people out of it, and there’s no way to rejoin partway through safely or meaningfully.
Please arrive 10 minutes early. That gives you time to settle, choose your futon, arrange your props and let your nervous system catch up with the fact that you’ve arrived. Arriving after the doors close is treated as a no-show under 3.1.
3.3 Leaving early
You may leave a session at any time, for any reason, without explaining yourself. Please tell the facilitator or leave quietly. Leaving early doesn’t entitle you to a refund or credit, but if something went wrong we want to know about it.
4. When we cancel
4.1 If we cancel a class
Sometimes we have to: facilitator illness, a building or power issue, severe weather, or a public health direction. If we cancel, you choose: a full credit, a transfer to another session, or a full refund to your original payment method. We’ll tell you as soon as we know.
4.2 Minimum numbers
There’s no minimum number of people needed to run a class.
4.3 Substitute facilitators
Occasionally a session may be led by a different facilitator. The session runs as scheduled and normal cancellation terms apply. If you’d specifically booked to work with someone and they’re not there, tell us and we’ll credit you.
4.4 Weather, flood and events outside our control
If severe weather, flooding, a power outage, a public health order or another event outside our reasonable control means we can’t run a session, section 4.1 applies. We won’t keep your money for a class we couldn’t deliver. If the studio is open but you decide not to travel, normal terms apply, though if conditions are genuinely dangerous, use your grace cancellation or talk to us.
5. Intro offer
Your first session, of any length, is $22. It’s the First Session pass in our booking platform, and it:
- covers one place in any of our five scheduled classes
- is valid for 30 days from purchase
- is for first-time customers only, and can be bought once
- doesn’t cover one-to-one sessions
6. Refunds and credits: the short version
| Situation | Outcome |
|---|---|
| You cancel with proper notice | Credit (or reschedule) |
| You cancel late, first time in 6 months | Credit: grace cancellation |
| You cancel late, otherwise | Forfeited |
| You don’t show up | Forfeited |
| You’re ill, injured or bereaved | Credit: talk to us |
| We cancel | Your choice: credit, transfer or refund |
| We decline your booking on safety grounds after you disclosed honestly | Full refund |
| Something went genuinely wrong with the service | Your ACL rights apply (section 7) |
Credits sit in your Breathation account, are valid for [12] months, and can be used on any class of equal or lesser value. Credits aren’t transferable or redeemable for cash. Refunds, where they apply, go back to the original payment method within [5–10] business days.
7. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
This section overrides everything above.
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, including that services will be provided with due care and skill and will be fit for purpose. If we fail to meet one of those guarantees:
- for a major failure, you can cancel and get a refund for the unused portion, or claim compensation for the drop in value, plus compensation for other reasonably foreseeable loss
- for a failure that isn’t major, you’re entitled to have it fixed within a reasonable time, and if it isn’t, to cancel and be refunded for the unused portion
Nothing in this policy limits those rights. Changing your mind, or booking the wrong class, isn’t a failure of a consumer guarantee, but if we’ve genuinely got something wrong, tell us and we’ll make it right.
8. Waitlists
If a class is full you can join the waitlist. When you join, you agree that if a place opens up we’ll book you into it automatically and charge your payment method. If you then can’t come, our normal cancellation rules apply (section 2).
9. Studio conduct
To keep the space safe for everyone, we ask that you:
- arrive on time and settled
- switch your phone off: not to silent, off
- keep the space quiet before and after sessions; many people are integrating and don’t want to talk
- don’t wear strong fragrance, perfume or essential oils; you’ll be lying down in a small room together
- don’t attend under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs
- respect other participants’ privacy: what surfaces in the room stays in the room
- follow the facilitator’s instructions
We may ask you to leave, without refund, if your behaviour is unsafe, intoxicated, disruptive or disrespectful.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page. The version in force when you make a booking is the one that applies to that booking.
11. Questions
If you’re unsure about anything, or something has gone wrong, email hello@breathation.com. We’d much rather sort it out than have you not come back.
